about

One of Rubberhusband's livelier numbers, this track was inspired by the classic Sparks track "Tryouts for the Human Race" - written from the perspective of an army of sperm and produced in 1979 by synth legend, Giorgio Moroder. Taking on the worldview of an egg waiting to be fertilized (and knowing it may not come to pass) "Hosting the Tryouts" tries out a few space disco tricks and some clever innuendo atop a host of music designed to move your behind.

lyrics

"Hosting the Tryouts"

soldiers banging at my door
I'd love to let you all inside
give you what you came here for
reward you for how hard you tried

alas, there's only room for one
or maybe two, if you're clever
but this could be our only chance
come on, it's now or never

breaking through the barricades
and racing to get next to me
can't wait to really be someone
reach - destiny
one of you might make it through
the rest won't make it in
I wish you all the best of luck
and may the best man win

swimmers on your marks get set
and show me what you got
do your best to beat the rest
do you have what it takes or not?

breaking through the barricades
and racing to get next to me
can't wait to really be someone
reach - destiny
one of you might make it through
the rest won't make it in
I wish you all the best of luck
and may the best man win
breaking through the barricades
and racing to get next to me
can't wait to really be someone
reach - destiny
one of you might make it through
the rest won't make it in
I wish you all the best of luck
and may the best man win
